TaskPanzer Workflow Recorder Chrome Extension

Summary: This extension captures your browser interactions ONLY when you explicitly start a recording. All data is uploaded directly to your own TaskPanzer workspace. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

1. Data Collection

We collect the following data only when you initiate a recording session:

User Activity: Clicks, mouse movements, scrolling, and keystrokes (text input).
Website Content: Screenshots of the active tab and text/labels of elements you interact with.
Web History: The URLs of pages visited during the recording session to provide context for the documentation.
Account Information: Your name and email address are stored locally to display your active workspace profile.
Authentication Tokens: An API token is stored locally to authorize uploads to your TaskPanzer instance.

2. How We Use Your Data

The data collected is used strictly for the core functionality of the extension:

To generate step-by-step workflow documentation automatically.
To create visual bug reports and training guides.
To upload these assets to your specified project within TaskPanzer.

We do not use your data for tracking, advertising, creditworthiness, or lending purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

All recorded data (screenshots, steps) is temporarily stored on your local device until you click "Stop & Save". Upon saving, the data is transmitted securely (over HTTPS) directly to your connected TaskPanzer workspace.

Password Masking: The extension automatically detects and masks password fields (displaying "••••••") to prevent capturing sensitive credentials.

Credit Card Masking: We employ logic to detect and mask sensitive credit card input fields to avoid inadvertent data collection.

4. Data Sharing

Your data is yours. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.

No Third-Party Transfers: Data is not sent to any third-party processors other than your own TaskPanzer instance.
No Advertising: We do not use your data for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Your Choices

You have full control over when data is collected:

On-Demand Recording: The extension is completely inactive and collects no data until you click "Start Recording".
Stop Anytime: You can stop or cancel a recording at any time, which discards any captured data immediately.
Uninstall: You can uninstall the extension at any time to remove all locally stored settings and tokens.
